Ilya Kexholmsky, born in 1959, lives and works in Saint Petersburg, Russia. A versatile contemporary artist, he excels in drawing and impressionist painting, mainly using charcoal, graphite on paper and acrylic on canvas.

Kexholmsky studied at the Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg and is a member of the graphics department of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. His artistic journey is marked by a diverse career as a graphic designer, painter, graphic designer and screen printer. Although he has worked for a long time in the field of visual identity and illustration, he has mainly devoted himself to graphic art since 2019.

Kexholmsky's work is distinguished by the use of simple but impactful materials, such as graphite and charcoal, to express his artistic vision. He favors strong, confident lines to convey emotion and depth with a minimalist use of color. Archetypal symbols feature prominently in his creations, as he seeks to infuse each work with layers of symbolic and intuitive meanings.

Kexholmsky's artistic process is characterized by a "stream of consciousness" approach that allows his inherent symbolism and emotions to flow onto the canvas. This invites viewers to interact with their own instincts and emotions. His impressionist drawings captivate with their ability to evoke deep feelings and provoke introspective reflection.

Ilya Kexholmsky took part in numerous art exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Helsinki, London and other cities. His works are part of private collections in Russia and abroad, testifying to his international influence and the universal appeal of his art.
