Jérôme Chauvin, alias JICÉ, is a contemporary French artist. His "bas relief" compositions are paintings-sculptures, and they are somewhere between hyperrealism and new realism. His mural works seem to be made of stamped metal s, deteriorated over the years, but his concave or convex constructions on wooden structures are only illusions and play between the true and the false.
Reinterpreted his works tell us a story, an experience, they never existed, but JICÉ gave them this appearance and he enjoys deceiving the eye and the senses, playing on patient constructions. Airplane cabins, industrial compositions and relief stencils are his inspirational themes. Constantly in transit, in constant search of new graphic horizons, JICÉ invites us to embark between sky, land and sea.
