Véronique Attia is a contemporary French artist. Through the action of painting, engraving, modeling, she has inexorably pursued for more than 20 years, a journey into the reminiscences of the past and embraces the uncertainties that accompany the artistic process, perpetually seeking new horizons. Attia's evocative visions are deeply linked to the history of the earth and humanity, reflecting a deep commitment to our common past.

Her artistic experiments involve a diverse mix of materials including pigments, colours, cement, collages, marouflaged textiles, gesso, bitumen and oil pastels. This rich interplay of media gives birth to the material from which she shapes form and meaning. Faces, bodies, walls, figures, traces, symbols and elements of nature emerge from her work like signals waiting to be deciphered.

Keen to experiment with art in complete freedom, Attia lets spontaneity guide her gestures, leaving room for the unexpected while remaining sensitive to her own intuition. This approach leads her on a quest for revelations that resonate with the primitive. Her paintings invite the viewer to reconnect with founding elements, as evidenced by her portraits that echo Aboriginal, African and pre-Columbian art, as well as her landscapes imbued with the essence of a virgin nature, a reflection of our links with distant origins.

Through her unique perspective and exploration of materials, Véronique Attia's work serves as a bridge between the contemporary and the archaic, encouraging a deeper understanding of humanity's common heritage.
